Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...If you don't know who Julie Andrews is, then well, you've had a very hard life. We had the opportunity to go and see her here at Encore Park Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre that is right here in Alpharetta this past Saturday. It still feels like it was a dream, but at the same time it was truly amazing. We didn't have the best seats in the world, but just to be there was amazing.
The program was called The Gift of Music and featured songs from some of Rodgers and Hammerstein's great plays/movies. It had songs from The Sound of Music, The King and I, South Pacific, No Strings, Carousel, Oklahoma, State Fair, Do I Hear A Waltz, and Cinderella. It also included a semi-play. Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, wrote a book (Simeon's Gift). They adapted a it into a kind of a play. The words and music were written by Ian Fraser and John Bucchino. Julie Andrews narrated and read parts of the book, while the guest singers acted and sang songs.
For those who never heard, Julie Andrews had major surgery on her vocal chords about twelve years ago and since then has never been able to sing. Imagine our surprise when she started singing. While she can only sing a very low alto, it was still absolutely breathtakingly amazing. She had five guest performers come and sing the songs. The ones she had been a part of she'd sing too.
She looked so beautiful...better than on-screen. Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do!!!

P.S. Hahaha!!!! None of you got the colors of Natalee's room right. The right answer is...
Pink and Green!
